| I love the way this ship moves gliding along the water slow heaves and a gentle swing lull me to sway dips and swells and rocking I feel drowsy and sleepy and lethargic perhaps it's just the lack of sleep in the last few days the ocean is bluer than I imagined a deeper purer shade of blue than I've seen before rainbows and mist scatter across the undulating waves I could sit and watch and wonder in awe forever I've been bumping into different people from my past on this cruise, reminding me of different moments of my life last night I sat under the stars drinking in the deep dark beautiful sky the night was warm but breezy some stars were familiar but most were not twittering and twinkling and coming into and disappearing from view a different night than I have ever seen some stars were bright and bold and usual there's Orion some stars were faint and barely noticeable some were clustered like clouds the moon was absent and missed thoughts swimming through my mind hopes, dreams, feelings, questions, reflections | | |

| The Call is coming to Las Vegas next month! Wow I think it was like a decade ago that Roz and I were on the mall in DC with 400,000 young people worshiping and fasting and praying. It was one of those cool memorable events like OneDay, a little mile marker in my history. I'm excited to take part in it next month, hopefully they can use me to volunteer and serve (hopefully I can get next month's schedule to sync with the days off or I may have to try to get a doctor's note or something.. hmmm not sure how that will work)
A few weekends ago I heard Lou Engle preaching at my church and finally got my impetus to start a long-term fast. I've always wanted to do a 40 day fast, so far I've only done one-week water-only fasts that I can remember.. They've all been extraordinary experiences though it's been quite a while since I've fasted, for some reason I just never got around to it even though it's been tugging in the back of my mind for the last few years. So for this month into next, I'm doing a sort of progressive fast, because of work I'm fasting meat (beef, chicken, seafood, etc) for now, and then for 2 weeks I'll also fast all sugar and carbs, then for a week I'll do liquid-only, and then a week of water-only for the week of the Call LV. How exciting! Let's see how excited I am after abstaining from my favorite food group for 4 weeks.. haha.

| Oopsie. That link below is not the conference, but previous messages from the same speakers. The conference will probably take another week or so to get posted on iTunes.
Backing up a few months to when Rick Joyner was in town... he really blew me away, much more than I had previously thought he would and in ways that I didn't think he would. His ministry has a K-12 Christian school in Florida where rule #1 is NO HOMEWORK. Imagine that! Rule #2 is 3-DAY WEEKENDS. Thursday is Friday! Imagine that! They start the day with worship, and all the teachers are hired based on their spiritual calling there. The principal knows all the kids and loves them like they are his own. I remember my principal in high school, well, I have no recollection of what his name is, but I remember what he looked like when I sat in his office after my suicide attempt. He did not care about me. None of my teachers did. (they even debased me but that's another story) Anyways, back to my story. It made sense when he said that "the Holy Spirit is the best teacher in the world" but it was hard not to wonder about the academics of this school. So last year every senior graduated with a scholarship to college, including Ivy Leagues including Harvard. Imagine that! He had so many good things to say and testimonies that really changed my perspective of this man. His books have really touched me deeply, but it was impressive to see that he is such a successful and shrewd business man. If I ever have kids, I'm moving down to Florida.

| Even better than Dunkin Donuts opening in Las Vegas this month, are the amazing speakers that come through this place.. people that a decade ago I would have gone with my friends flying cross country to see, driving through several states to see, trying to get time off to see, spending what little money I had to see. Rick Joyner was amazing a few months ago, and this past week I got a real treat with Heidi Baker, Bill Johnson (I drove out to Pasadena last year to see these guys at HRC), and Randy Clark. My church is only a half hour drive away and the conferences are always free. I can't believe I only recently started attending this church (due to my own judments and misgivings, I'll have to blog about that later), I had first visited this church years ago when I moved to Vegas just to see Che Ahn.
I'm going to blog more later about my experiences but if anyone would like to listen, my church has the whole conference posted online for free: ICLV Conference
There was a really cool couple leading worship too!!! (Anyone who knows me well knows how much I looooove really good inspired worship) If anyone would like to listen to some fresh new music you can download 2 free songs off the album online and sample all the songs:
 my favorites are tracks 1, 4 & 12
